Presentation of Images - P5

Final Pictures.

I have decided to present you the top 10 pictures I have recently done. Those pictures are the most closely done to the picture that I was going for. The purpose of those pictures to go on the main page (cover page) of a sport magazine. Those pictures are dark and moody because the theme which I was going for is a rugby cover photos and as rugby is a very dangerous sport I have decided on doing the photos in a dark and scary way as it tell more to the viewer about the game and the attitude which is highly important. Therefore, the models were had to look moody and cready which creates a dramatic effect on those pictures.

Picture 1.

This picture is suppose to the main cover picture. The main purpose of this picture is to intimidate people to play this sport (mainly man) as this game is a rough sport which is played by many tough man. Therefore, the aksent was to focus on making this picture dark and powerful. Therefore, I have decided on doing this pictures in a close up as the gives a feel of this scary man as you can clearly see his emotions which makes you think that you are a part of this picture.

Picture 2.
This man is taken in a medium shot as you can clearly see himself and in the same time, the emotions of the photo is very clear. Therefore, the man is looking at the camera to make the viewer think that if he will meet this man on the street, he might be scared as you know that he is a professional in a very vital game. In the same time, as those pictures will be places in the magazine cover, people would want to buy it, as the man, which is presenting a very vital game is in the magazine and there could be an article about him and this sport.

Picture 3.
This picture has been taken in the medium shot, to represent the scary look of this player. He has just received the pass from teammate and he is looking to see the opportunity for this ball to be passed to someone else as the ball in rugby could be passed just backwards. Therefore, while he is looking back, I have decided to make the left part of his face darker in order to create this dramatic effect on his face.  In the same time,  I have made the picture a bit darker to create this feel of danger for the view of this game.

Picture 4
This is one of my favourite pictures as the picture have been taken in a medium shot. The picture of three well trained players,  that have prepared for the match and waiting for it to start. This picture could be used as a cover picture for a  magazine which is representing a particular team. This mean that is order for this picture to be successful, it should be dark, as the game which they are playing is very violent, and they have to be serious in the picture as the game involves a huge amout of concentration.

Picture 5.
This is a great picture that was taken in a medium shot. This shot allows the viewer to see clearly the player with a serious face, which a dark atmosphere which will be willing to buy this magazine, where the picture will be placed. Therefore, the main effects that have been used are the " Curves" to create the effect i wanted - to decrease the level of light on this picture. This means that the picture will be more moodier and scarier, therefore, it will be more influential for the customers to buy it.

Picture 6

This is a medium shot of a rugby player, that is preparing for the match. He is looking focused and scary. The picture is really powerful, but to make it stands out, I have decided to make it a little bit darker, so the viewer is focused on the player, but not on the things around him. This means that the main focus of the customer will be the player, which means that people will only buy the product if they are interested in the player as well.

Picture 7.
This photo of the front line in the scrum. Three players are looting at the opponent team to make them scare of the coming play. This is a very powerful picture, as the players are looking really focused and serious about the coming game. To make them look more powerful, I have decided to make the photo darker, so the viewer can be focused just on the players, but not the things surrounding them. Therefore, people will be looking just on the players, and this will be the main influence for them to buy the magazine.

Picture 8.
This is my favourite picture. The rugby player is holding the ball in one hand and is looking scary at the camera. He is representing his team badge and he is wearing it with a huge amount of pride. Unfortunately, the picture appeared to be very bright, therefore I have done a lot of different attends to make it as dark (P4) as possible and I found that this is the best attend from others. The man is looking focused and straight at the camera, which makes a huge impression of the viewer which is buying the magazine. Therefore, as the man is scary, people would want to buy the magazine in order to find out more about this player.

Picture 9.

This is great medium shot of a rugby player. Originally, this shot was made to advertise the rugby equipment (in this situation a rugby ball) but in the same time, I was thinking of this picture could be placed as a cover photo fot the magazine, as the photo came up really well, so I thought that there is a possibility. So I have decrease the level of light on this picture which have made it darker, scarier and the main characters to stand out. Therefore, people will be influenced to buy this product as they will be interested on reading more about this character.

Picture 10.
This photo was originally be placed on the front page as there are 3 main rugby players of the team, which means that the customers (fans of this team) would want to buy this product as they want to know more about the team that they are supporting. For example, new players that might potentially appear in the team, team scores and other things. Therefore, the picture have to influential for the customers to buy it. To do this, I have spent some time to make this picture darker and a bit scarier, as I think that in this sport is influential, when everythings is scary.

Different style of editing.

I have been thinking on doing the variety of different editing with those pictures and those are the examples of completely different style of editing which I didn't liked and decided to change it.
Picture 1.
This photo is special as I think that in rugby, the main thing and the focus is the ball. This picture make the person aim at the ball, not what is around you.

Picture 2.
This picture creates a filling of  a hard Kent College player, as there is a wall as a background and he's look creates a deep filling .

Picture 3.
This picture gives an impression of a rugby player is getting ready before a tough match.

Picture 4.
This is one of the best photos I have ever took as this picture represents a rugby team which is getting ready before the game. The shadows on their faces are making them look more scary and powerful.

Edit Photographic Images - P4

Now I would like to show you how I have been editing my final pictures ( which effects I used and why did I do that). There are 10 main pictures that are influencing me to talk about as I think that those 10 are the best what I have done for this project. My project was to create a cover photos for the magazine which will influence to buy the it as soon as they will the man on the cover photo. Therefore, as rugby is a very violent game, I have decided to make all my photos dark and moody so the viewer will be more focused on the main objective ( player(s) ) and this dark atmosphere will hopefully create a bigger impression on him. To do this project, I have decided on using the programme called "Photoshop"

Before I would want to explain all my editing ideas and more detail, I would like to show you, how I have created my own label for all of my pictures. I have been thinking on creating something unique which might influence people to play this amazing sport. Therefore this is the actual label.

Label.
This is the label that I have came up with as I think it is a pretty looking design which have made a difference for every single one of my pictures as it adds something bright and unique to the picture as well as makes it branded by the firm. Therefore, this design makes people buy the product as they trust these firm. Now I will show you how I have been doing this lebel.

Step 1.
I have design the 2 half circles, that have similar shape to the rugby ball. After that, I have splitted it into two halfs and made a circle in the ball ( this is where the "R" will go in the future) as I thought it looks good and painted those 2 halves into 2 main Kent College colours - Red and Blue.

Step 2.
After that I have added the leterings as I think that the label should tell something to the customer ( at least the name of the firm which has produced the product) but I have decided to put the word "Rugby"as the whole project is based around this sport.

Step 3.
Then, as every single label has a shape, I thought to make the shape of my label - circle. This has no explanation to this decision as I took this decision intuitive and after that I liked it. Therefore, I have decided on keeping it.

Step 4.
In the end, I thought to make a small note which will motivate people to buy the product, as every brand has to have an influence which will help to sell this product. This was my idea to make mine like "For All" as people will be tempted to read through the magazine.

And now I would like to discuss those pictures in more detail.

Step 1.
I took the actual picture. It is really bright, therefore I have decided on making is darker by adding a variation of different effects on it. My plan for this picture is to make the outcome dark and influensive. Therefore, this the effect I will be doing:

Step 2.
Place the picture in to the actual program " Photoshop" where I have renamed the photo to "1.1" as it is easier to look after the different effects I will be adding and my file will be well divided.

Step 3.
In this step I have added the first really important effect called " Curves". This is an important effect as it helps me to meet my overall aim - is to make my pictures darker and scarier. This effect allows me to chose the different levels of light that could be adjusted by this effect.
As you can see here, I have moved the curve slightly to the right as it decreases the level of light on the picture and this really important for me as this is my overall aim.

 Step 4.
After that I have added the effect called " Hue/ Saturation". This effect allows you to change some settings on the particular picture. Therefore, on this picture I have placed Hue: +1, Situation: - 56 and Lightness: -7. I think that those settings are essential for this particular picture as it creates the moody effect that I am going for which makes it really important for my project.
Step 5.
Now I have added the effect called "Vibrance". This effect allows you to control the 2 settings which are Vibrance and Saturation. This effect smooves the picture, so it looks in the same colour throughout the picture. Therefore, It creates this dark colour that helps me to succeed my overall aim - to make the pictures look dark and influensive. Therefore, in this section my Vibrance: - 47 and Saturation: -58.

Step 6.
In this step I have just added the logo of my project that I have shown you recently.

Step 7.
In this step I have been adding the special effect that is called " Gradient overlay" which makes the face of the player covered in shadows. This effect is amazing for my project as I have been thinking on how to make the face of the player more interesting, and after I have used it, it gave me the effect that I have been looking for. Therefore, in the effect settings I have put my Full Opacity to 39%.

Step 8.
This effect I haven't use a lot of times, as I was happy with my lighting settings and I didn't want to change a lot in the picture. This effect gives you an opportunity to change Cyan, Magenta,  Yellow, Black. Therefore, in this section I have made those settings: Cyan: -42, Magenta:-26,Yellow:0, Black:-9.

Therefore, It creates this dark colour that helps me to succeed my overall aim - to make the pictures look dark and influensive. Therefore, in this section my Vibrance: + 100 and Saturation: - 29.
Step 4.
After that I have added the effect called " Hue/ Saturation". This effect allows you to change some settings on the particular picture. Therefore, on this picture I have placed Hue: 0, Situation: +16 and Lightness: -19. I think that those settings are essential for this particular picture as it creates the moody effect that I am going for which makes it really important for my project.

Step 5.
In this step I have been adding the special effect that is called " Gradient overlay" which makes the face of the player covered in shadows.  Step 6.
This effect I haven't use a lot of times, as I was happy with my lighting settings and I didn't want to change a lot in the picture. This effect gives you an opportunity to change Cyan, Magenta,  Yellow, Black. Therefore, in this section I have made those settings: Cyan: 0, Magenta:0 ,Yellow:0, Black:0.

Step 4.
Now I have added the effect called "Vibrance". This effect allows you to control the 2 settings which are Vibrance and Saturation. Step 8.
In this step I have just added the logo of my project that I have shown you recently.

Step 3.
This is the only picture where I have decided on adding the layer as I think it will look much better if the picture has this frame. Therefore,I have decided on adding this extra and it tern out really well.
Step 4.
Therefore, in this section my Vibrance: +32 and Saturation: -47.

Step 5.
After that I have added the effect called " Hue/ Saturation". This effect allows you to change some settings on the particular picture. Therefore, on this picture I have placed Hue: 0, Situation: - 4 and Lightness: -6. I think that those settings are essential for this particular picture as it creates the moody effect that I am going for which makes it really important for my project.

Step 6.
In this step I have just added the logo of my project that I have shown you recently.

Step 1.

I took the actual picture. It is really bright, therefore I have decided on making is darker by adding a variation of different effects on it. My plan for this picture is to make the outcome dark and influensive. Therefore, this the effect I will be doing:

In this step I have added the first really important effect called " Curves". This is an important effect as it helps me to meet my overall aim - is to make my pictures darker and scarier. This effect allows me to chose the different levels of light that could be adjusted by this effect.
As you can see here, I have moved the curve slightly to the right as it decreases the level of light on the picture and this really important for me as this is my overall aim.

Step 4.
Therefore, in this section my Vibrance: + 47 and Saturation: -36.

Step 5.
After that I have added the effect called " Hue/ Saturation". This effect allows you to change some settings on the particular picture. Therefore, on this picture I have placed Hue: 0, Situation: - 21 and Lightness: -2. I think that those settings are essential for this particular picture as it creates the moody effect that I am going for which makes it really important for my project.

Step 6.
In this step I have been adding the special effect that is called " Gradient overlay" which makes the face of the player covered in shadows. This effect is amazing for my project as I have been thinking on how to make the face of the player more interesting, and after I have used it, it gave me the effect that I have been looking for. Therefore, in the effect settings I have put my Full Opacity to 100%.

Step 7.
This effect I haven't use a lot of times, as I was happy with my lighting settings and I didn't want to change a lot in the picture. This effect gives you an opportunity to change Cyan, Magenta,  Yellow, Black. Therefore, in this section I have made those settings: Cyan:- 100, Magenta:-57 ,Yellow:-96, Black:-87.

Step 8.
In this step I have just added the logo of my project that I have shown you recently.

Step 5.
After that I have added the effect called " Hue/ Saturation". This effect allows you to change some settings on the particular picture. Therefore, on this picture I have placed Hue: 0, Situation: +17 and Lightness: -12. I think that those settings are essential for this particular picture as it creates the moody effect that I am going for which makes it really important for my project.

Step 6.
